Summer 2022 Level Method Assessments Summary

Congratulations to everyone at IMA/Audacious CF!

Our 12 weeks of training in the Spring resulted in improvements in our overall fitness and health, but was not accurately depicted in the changes in the levels of the categories we re-assessed! There were a number of factors that played into the changes we saw this time around.

We had 50 Individual Category Level Up’s (compared to 89 in Spring 2022) among 12 of us who took part in the Assessments this go around.

That is an average of 4.167 Individual Category Level Ups per person (compared to 5.933 in our Fall Assessments in Spring 2022)!

We had Overall Level Promotions for:
Andy O., Yellow I to Yellow II to Yellow III
Gus E., Blue I to Blue II
Laura L., Yellow to Yellow I

Biggest Improvements in Individual Category Level Ups were:
Front Squat: Tie between Andy O., Dan H., and Michelle P., Orange to Orange I, Purple III to Brown, and Purple to Purple I, respectively
Upper Body Pull: Pete C., Orange II to Blue
Lactic Tolerance: Andy O., Yellow I to Yellow III
Deadlift: Tie between Brett M., Laura L., Micah W., and Michelle P., Purple to Purple I, Yellow I to Yellow II, Orange to Orange I, and Brown I to Brown II
Upper Body Push: Tie between Jase S., Laura, L, and Terry H., Purple III to Brown, Orange II to Orange III, and Purple III to Brown
Upper/Lower Endurance: Gus E., Blue I to Purple
Weightlifting: Micah W., Orange II to Blue III
Squat Endurance: Andy O., Yellow III to Blue
Neurological and Core Endurance: Gus E., Purple to Purple II
Kettlebell: None
Flexibility: Andy O., Blue I to Purple I
Running: Laura L., Blue III to Brown I
Rowing: Andy O., Orange to Blue II
Aerobic Power Intervals: Micah W., Orange III to Blue I

Since our last Assessments in the Spring, we had 9 other individuals start their own Level Method Strength and Conditioning Assessments!

With everyone’s levels averaged, our Gym Avatar Overall Fitness Level as of 7/16/22 is Orange II, lower than as it was as of 4/9/22 (Orange III then). We have had a few new individuals come aboard, resulting in a lower averaged Overall Fitness Level.
Our Relative Strength (Strength to Bodyweight ratio) went down from Blue I to Blue.
Our Objective (Absolute) Strength went down from Blue III to Blue I.
Our Electricity (Central Nervous System ability) went down from Blue II to Blue.
Our Plumbing (Cellular Fueling) went down from Blue I to Blue.
Our Ventilation (Oxygen and Breathing) went down from Blue III to Blue I.

Since 4/9/22, we as a whole improved 0 out of the 15 categories on the Level MAP. We maintained the 2 categories at the same levels. We saw 1 category go down 3 levels, 3 categories go down 2 levels each, and 9 categories go down 1 level each.

Our Front Squat went down from from Blue II to Blue.
Our Upper Body Pull went down from Blue II to Blue I.
Our Lactic Tolerance went down from Orange III to Orange II.
Our Deadlift went down from Purple to Blue II.
Our Upper Body Push maintained at Blue.
Our Upper/Lower Endurance went down from Orange III to Orange II.
Our Weightlifting went down from from Blue III to Blue II.
Our Rings went down from Blue to Orange III.
Our Squat Endurance went down from Blue II to Blue I.
Our Neurological and Core Endurance maintained at Orange II.
Our Kettlebell went down from Purple to Blue I.
Our Flexibility went down from Blue III to Blue II
Our Running went down from Purple I to Purple.
Our Rowing went down from Blue II to Blue.
Our Aerobic Power Intervals went down from Blue I to Blue.

As many of us were away on trips for work, pleasure, and family obligations during these 2 weeks, especially during this time of year, many of us were only able to re-assess a few of the 15 categories, or were not able to even re-assess any of categories at all. Also, with new individuals to the group taking part in their 1-on-1 assessments, typically assessing at lower levels, the Gym Avatar’s Overall Fitness Level, as well as the individual category levels were naturally lower, which is what we are seeing this time around. If we had been at full strength in that everyone was were taking part in all the assessments for every category, then we would have seen maintenance at the very least, and most likely improvements in the categories. In the Fall, when we are going to have a 3 week assessment period for the first time instead of the typical 2 week assessment period as we have done before, we should expect more improvements for more of us individually, and for the group as a whole!

Stay motivated to keep improving over these next 3 months of warm weather to make Summer 2022 a memorable time in our lives!

With a great group of people here at IMA/Audacious CF, the sky is the limit in what we can do as a whole!

See you in class!
