Courage to Create
What’s it worth it for you to feel and possess the courage to create?
…the satisfaction and warmth you feel when a client says to you, “great work on that project this quarter,” as you feel the ridges of the pen ink on the check your client hands to you.
…the feeling of triumph and elation, riding the current of adrenaline coursing through your blood vessels, when you finally conquer that summit peak that you had been sweating, bleeding, and crying for months for.
…the opportunity to court that special person you have been pursuing who seems to always light up the room and stop the passage of time with their sparkling eyes and beaming smile everyday when you see them.
We humans create. We take our blessed and given talents and acquired skills and knowledge to create experiences to realize our greater potential.
To create something from nothing, and in return, receive something else we see value in, takes courage.
To have courage (or to be encouraged) to create, we must have confidence. Like in the examples above, we have to have confidence to talk and present to a prospective client our product or service and complete the task, and to ultimately be compensated for it. We must build and have the confidence to accept the challenge of getting to the top of the mountain, and put in the effort day in and day out to prepare ourselves mentally, physically, and emotionally. We definitely need the confidence to communicate with that special someone to create a long-lasting and fruitful relationship.
If we don’t have that confidence, then we surely won’t accomplish the things we want in life, like those examples above. We might try to attempt those; however, we might crash and burn, and feel sorry for ourselves in the end. We might be even discouraged to even try again. Without that confidence, we might feel anxious, and trembling with fright even at the thought of what we are even trying to attempt.
There are probably some things that you think you may want to attempt, but it gives you goosebumps, and the hair stands up on the back of your neck. You feel the pulsing in your temple and chest, and you seem to keep wiping off your hands on your pants. Turning your head away, wincing, and feeling your shoulders tense up tend to be what happens. You know what the Pucker Effect is, or you really have to use the restroom. You run away.
What would it be worth to not experience all that above?
The fear and anxiety we sense come from the lack of confidence.
The lack of confidence stems from our ignorance and lack of experience and preparation.
These problems can and should be solved, if we are to realize our greater potential.
What we have to do is to continuously learn and apply, simply put. We have to learn knowledge and techniques, acquire tools and strategies, test them in increasingly complex and challenging situations to obtain results and data, and repeat. By doing this we are conditioning and exposing ourselves more and more in gradually increasing amounts. By doing this we are become smarter, stronger, and more capable over time. We are becoming more confident.
While we become more confident, we become less anxious and fearful of other people, places, and things.
We ultimately will approach scenarios in our lives with confidence (knowing that we are prepared mentally, physically, and emotionally) and summon the courage to create…
Before we take on the challenge to learn and apply, we must see where we’re truly at.
This takes assessing ourselves.
Here at IMA, we can assess our mental and physical (and even emotional…ask some of our Tribe members) abilities.
Your Nutrition, Breathing, Flexibility, Strength, and Conditioning are all that we assess.
We then find out what we can improve on the most to get you the most bang for your buck.
We teach, and you learn what Nutrition, Breathing, Flexibility, Strength, and Conditioning are, and their place in the greater context of your life, and how to improve them.
Along the way you gather the knowledge and techniques, tools and strategies, and the results from the testing you will do, day in and day out in training sessions here.
You confidence will grow, and you will want to take on new and different challenges in your life.
You will then have the ability to call on courage to create…
…the sale, or
…the physical feat, or
…the relationship.
Steps to take:
1. Assess with us and be selected for our Tribe.
2. Train with us in class.
3. Develop your confidence.
4. Summon your courage.
5. Create.
